Zhongshan/California

Regent Hotel has been a local favorite since the beginning. Its a must to stop by the plaza with its black marble ledges. Such a fun spot, in the heart of the city. To my surprise things got better. Not because I found out this hotel is in the movie Lucy (where the Yakuza gangsters have there shootout), but  because of a hidden full revolution quarter pipe. I'm still scheming how I can skate this. There's got to be one day where the hotel closes or something.

Up by YuanShan MRT they just installed these metal pipe ledges

Beiman park (careful of the wheel stopper seeds on the ground)

I went back to the U.S. for a month. I had to stop by the spot that created modern street skating. You can still see all the chips in the bricks from all the countless tricks that were created by the legends. It was nice nerding out.

Its funny how Chinatown has no Chinese flags, but a ton of Taiwanese ones hanging everywhere. I guess it stems from many Hong Kongese coming over post WWII. They still are following and supporting the Republic, which was the controlling party at the time. When we first entered into Chinatown, a lady swarmed up on us speaking Mandarin to my child welcoming her. Its weird she instantly knew we were not from USA and knew my daughter was half Taiwanese. It was a very surreal moment.

Spent a little time in Palm Springs. What a chill place. There are so many nice air bnb with swimming pools there. I highly recommend going. The city was created because there are natural water springs close by in the mountains. The Native Americans had villages there previously. It is very hot but with much water.

Had to stop by LA which is only a couple of hours away. Really had a blast there, and went to Venice. This place is the birthplace of skating. Many people and generations have given there heart and blood to the sport here. Including my Dad. He grew up around here. He was a surfer, and would skate when the waves were not good. He drove around in a big black herse which would hold his longboard. He later got shot at, and that made him choose a more low-key car. afterwards.

Saw this next to our hotel near Yosemite

Had to stop by this legend spot as well

December 2022

This area is a bit of a challenge to find. It is in the middle of a newly developed undeveloped community. It has been covered a few times by some pros and awesome photographers. It's worth it to take a trip just to see it.

One can find this building that has the whole side to wallride. It keeps on going on the other side.

So many employees wanted to kick me out, but didn't. I could feel the pressure to get as a many tries in, and surprisingly never got the boot.

Back in Banqiao I found this bump. Pretty fun, and great area to chill.

Went back to the IKEA spot, and noticed a day after they put a skatestopper rope down.

This is calling me

This is the ER drop off in front of a hospital. Creates a challenge to be able to skate it, but I think if I go late at night or in the middle of a busy day, I can get a pass.

\
It has 3 sides and then some if the scooters are gone.

\\
Further down the way in Fuzhong, they have a similar spot in front of a similar barrier to skate it (police station). Thinking the same as I mentioned above to be able to hit it.

Saw this in Taichung. Pretty sure this is new, and maybe never skated.

There is a missing piece here. Maybe just use a crate with plywood.

Always look in front of new apartment buildings. They have randomly shaped stuff like this made out of granite.

探險家

Skating on tiles is always fun, especially if its a bank. This is an exit of an MRT stop in the middle of Tucheng. Everyone in the area will be so busy commuting to their factory jobs, you can blend in without any notice.

Looking down at this behemoth, I almost lost my breath, it was stunning. It reminds me of a Star Wars ship flown by the Empire. I had to get a wall ride on it even though the runup was as smooth as a forest floor.

Sneak right in the middle

I'm sure every skater in Taipei has seen this spot in 101 area. Its right in front of a security guard, so not many will try to skate it. One night I broke my routine and got 1 trick on it. I went and warmed up down the street on a curb, and then charged it with 1-2 opportunities.

Surprise, come skate this when we are closed.

Ok, not a problem. Such a fun place.

Yep

Been eyeing this one

Smooth ground, even smoother bank.

This has to be for skateboarders. Really can't think of anything else.

Love the bleakness of this photo with haggard bike and neon lighting.

Went by here the other day, and noticed this spot is gone. Hope someone got something here.

Another I hope someone will get.

3 opportunity spot (3 tries, then get kicked out)

Surprised this hasn't become a skate plaza.
