Zhongshan/California

Regent Hotel has been a local favorite since the beginning. Its a must to stop by the plaza with its black marble ledges. Such a fun spot, in the heart of the city. To my surprise things got better. Not because I found out this hotel is in the movie Lucy (where the Yakuza gangsters have there shootout), but  because of a hidden full revolution quarter pipe. I'm still scheming how I can skate this. There's got to be one day where the hotel closes or something.

Up by YuanShan MRT they just installed these metal pipe ledges

Beiman park (careful of the wheel stopper seeds on the ground)

I went back to the U.S. for a month. I had to stop by the spot that created modern street skating. You can still see all the chips in the bricks from all the countless tricks that were created by the legends. It was nice nerding out.

Its funny how Chinatown has no Chinese flags, but a ton of Taiwanese ones hanging everywhere. I guess it stems from many Hong Kongese coming over post WWII. They still are following and supporting the Republic, which was the controlling party at the time. When we first entered into Chinatown, a lady swarmed up on us speaking Mandarin to my child welcoming her. Its weird she instantly knew we were not from USA and knew my daughter was half Taiwanese. It was a very surreal moment.

Spent a little time in Palm Springs. What a chill place. There are so many nice air bnb with swimming pools there. I highly recommend going. The city was created because there are natural water springs close by in the mountains. The Native Americans had villages there previously. It is very hot but with much water.

Had to stop by LA which is only a couple of hours away. Really had a blast there, and went to Venice. This place is the birthplace of skating. Many people and generations have given there heart and blood to the sport here. Including my Dad. He grew up around here. He was a surfer, and would skate when the waves were not good. He drove around in a big black herse which would hold his longboard. He later got shot at, and that made him choose a more low-key car. afterwards.

Saw this next to our hotel near Yosemite
